As promised, here is the tutorial and my step by step to making these adorable covered button earrings! :)

You will need:
-Covered button Kit(s): For this project I used 5/8" and 1/2". My friend Katie used 7/8", but she can pull off the larger earrings :) It's important to buy the kit because you'll need the "stopper" and the "button backs", as I call them. Once you have those pieces, from then on you can only buy the refill packs.
-Fabric of your choice: I had a coupon and got several varieties of fabric on sale at JoAnn's. Any spare fabric you have laying around will work....and make this a super inexpensive project.
-Hot Glue Gun: You can use craft glue if you want, but I've found that hot glue dries quickly an works well.
-Scissors: to cut out your circles from your fabric
-Pliers: to remove the metal piece from the button backs so that you can attach the earring stud
-Earring Backs: I found these for $2 at JoAnn's for a package of 12.
And....although not essential for all, Katie and I find that M&M's and milk increase our creative juices :)
I used this tutorial for directions to this awesome project. The more we worked with this, we found the smaller and more detailed the fabric, the better the earrings will turn out.
1) Cut out the button pattern from the back of the package and trace it onto your fabric. Cut out the circles.
2) Position your fabric over the "stopper" piece (usually white) and push down into the "stopper" using the tip of a pen or your finger. Insert the Silver Button piece and push into the center.
3) Use the pliers to remove the small button attachment from the backing. Insert back into the mold and use blue stopper to secure into place.
4) Hot glue earring stud to the back of the earring.
Enjoy your new earrings :D
